Prospective Students

The process for enrolling in the Coast Guard Auxiliary is straightforward.  After you indicate your desire to do so, you will meet with the Personnel Services officer (FSO-PS) to complete some general paperwork (you will need your passport or birth certificate, and another form of identification), provide fingerprints, be photographed for your ID card, and take a short entrance quiz (this is very straightforward, and you will be provided with all of the help and material you need).  You may then begin participating in most activities.  You will also be assigned a “coach”, who is an experienced Auxiliarist who will serve as a mentor to you and help you along the way.  You and your coach will work together to make sure that you are able to train in and pursue your own individual interests.  After several weeks you will receive an ID number and should begin wearing your uniform.  You will be a full member once your security screening is completed and your ID card is issued.
